Our first selection is titled "Trumpeters in the Mist". It shows North America's magnificent and largest swans riding the swells of a misty northern morning. We viewed groups of these birds on several trips, in the fall, to Wyoming, as they were flying from one water source to another. Their loud calls are unmistakable.
They were hunted in the 1600 - 1800s, almost to extinction. Their numbers were down to fewer than 100. But, thanks to reintroduction efforts, they have made a comeback. It is a wonderful gift to be able to see them and hear their loud cries.
