As we sat in the heat of midday along the Zambezi River in southern
Africa, we watched a small band of Kudu cows browsing slowly back into
the shade. One youngster, still possessing her sense of curiosity,
paused to see what we were up to. She swiveled a large ear in our
direction. She wasn't alarmed. The oxpeckers grooming her coat paid us
no mind, otherwise she would have disappeared at once.
Satisfied as to our intentions, she gracefully turned to follow her
family and vanished into the shadows. Beautiful---Africa.
